Laptop Repair: Power Jack Solder 



The most common laptop repairs include power jack failure and power brick or power supply cord failures.  Often are caused by either a dead charger power cord or break in the solder joint on the PCB at the power jack within the laptop itself or require a reflow of the video chip which gets too hot and cracks the connection. ​

You can avoid these failures by not having the power cord cross any walkway in the living areas used.  Kids/Dogs often trip on power cords causing these failures.  Cord failures often occur from animals biting cords.

 

Reflow - Is the act of re-soldering a component to the motherboard such as the video chip which may come loose from heat and wear and tear.

Laptop LCD screens are pretty indestructible until you sit on them, drop them or throw the computer against the wall(don't laugh this is actually a fair number of responses we hear from customers).

Laptop Repair: Keyboard, Motherboard and Battery Replacement​



We seldom see a laptop motherboard failure unless a liquid is spilled or the laptop was sat on a soft (bed) surface reducing the ability of the system to stay cool through the bottom vents.  Heat can cause the system to burn.   Dust and pet dander often cause the cpu fan to slow down to the point that the laptop slowly over heats and shuts itself off.  We can often clean the laptop for the dust and dander but liquid or real heat damaged motherboards must be replaced or repaired.  We have a great source of motherboard suppliers so we can usually perform this type of require quickly and have you on your way.

We keep many batteries in stock to get you on your way but if you have one of the rare batteries we can often get one within a few days or even have it delivered to your home.​​
